Dave Bender has been blessed to serve as Minister of Administration & Media at South Tulsa Baptist since July of 2007. In addition to serving a wonderful church, Dave leads a great team to coordinate the financial, food services, facilities, media, publications, communications, website, information technology, and overall operations areas to support the many ministries of our church.
Dave was ordained to the ministry in November of 2003 by Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He is certified as a Certified Church Administrator by the National Association of Church Business Administrators and as a Church Business Administrator by the Baptist Leadership Network (BLN formerly SBCBAA).
Prior to Dave's call to full-time church ministry, Dave served in workplace ministry as Chief Operating Officer for an Information Technology consulting company in Dallas and as Assistant Controller, Director of System Development, and Manager of Worldwide Information Technology for an Exploration & Production Company in Oklahoma City. Dave served as a Deacon, Sunday Bible Study Director/Teacher, and lay leader at Prestonwood Baptist in Dallas and Village Baptist in Oklahoma City during his workplace ministry.
Dave and Cindy have been married 37 years and are blessed to have 3 daughters and 3 sons-in-law and 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Our daughters, Emily, Allison, and Blaire, all graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. Emily and Brian are parents to our grandson, Ben, live in the Fort Worth area, and are active at First Baptist Euless. Emily has her CFP and is a Vice-President at Fidelity. Allison and Eric are getting their Masters to teach overseas and have blessed us with our grandson, Lukas, and grandaughter, Kyra. Blaire, Jon, Chloe, and Gibson live in Edmond. Chloe is our oldest granddaughter and Gibson is our youngest grandson. Blaire is teaching nursing at Oklahoma University in OKC and has her Masters in Nursing Education.
