The Christmas Dinner Theater is a church-wide project intended to enhance relationships within the church family and at the same time, provide a unique outreach tool to the community. Auditions take place in September and rehearsals begin in October. There are five presentations: Tuesday (Community Night), then Thursday through Saturday night with a Saturday matinee. The evening performances, complete with candlelight dinner served by waiters and waitresses, provide a wonderful opportunity to invite neighbors and friends to hear the gospel in a unique setting.

Christmas Dinner Theater 2015 - The Christmas Post

Community Night - December 1

Christmas Dinner Theater - December 3-5

Christmas Dinner Theater is a 24-year tradition at South Tulsa Baptist Church. Enter the Commons to the sounds of lovely Christmas music performed by the Adult Handbell Choir, then move into the transformed Gym to enjoy an elegant candlelit dinner followed by The Christmas Post, a fun musical that the whole family will enjoy. The story begins early on Christmas Eve, 1947, in Homesboro, Indiana. Hattie McGee’s “newsies” are selling the morning edition of The Christmas Post. Alice Garfield, a young widow whose faith and pocketbook are both stretched to the limit, is desperately trying to find “a little more Christmas” as a commission salesperson at Herzog’s Department Store this Christmas season. Enjoy an engaging dramatic story with energetic production numbers, culminating in a moving moment of decision.

Performances are December 3-5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. with a free matinee on Saturday, December 5 at 1:30 p.m. All seats are reserved. Tickets for the evening performance/dinner are $15 per person. Tables on the main floor seat nine, balcony tables seat four. Tickets go on sale November 1, 2015.
