His Life for Mine
Join us in the Worship Center at 6:00 p.m. as the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra present His Life for Mine.
The Sanctuary Choir leads in worship each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. This group is open to older youth and adult singers with no audition required. This choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 6:45 to 8:00 in the Worship Center. The choir presents seasonal programs which include Christmas and Easter. Our choir plans to present "Worship the King" for Christmas 2015 on Sunday, December 13, at 10:45 am.
The Youth Choir is designed for students in grades seven through twelve. This group rehearses on Wednesdays, 5:30-6:25 p.m. The choir sings once a month for worship services and for a program at Christmas. The group takes an annual spring tour in late May or early June. Spring tours have included San Antonio, St. Louis, Kansas City, Memphis, and Dallas/FtWorth. Check out the video of this year's spring tour.
A comprehensive graded choir program, this area of the music ministry focuses on children from age three to sixth grade, with a total of seven choirs for this age group. Children’s choirs rehearse each Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:25 pm. These choirs work on scripture memory songs and hymns as well as performances for the Christmas and spring programs. Awards are given at the spring program for completion of memory work and attendance. Click here for our 2015-2016 Music & Missions booklet.
Our Theme – Living in the Light
Light is mentioned throughout the Bible as a literal presence or as a powerful metaphor and a symbol for our spiritual lives. Theme concepts about light are expressed in both concrete and abstract ways so that children of all ages can know Jesus as the Light of the World and walk as children of light.
We have a children’s choir available for every child from ages 3 years – 6th grade.
We encourage parents to take advantage of this Bible teaching arm for preschoolers and children.
You may pre enroll your child at the table near the Preschool Welcome Center.
Children’s Choir will begin on Wednesday, September 2, 5:30-6:30 pm
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
