 Marriage Moment

“Above All, Love Each Other Deeply, Because Love Covers A Multitude Of Sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8

This is a great foundational verse for kingdom marriage because marriage is a union of two sinners. There will be times that we will fail each other, hurt one another, and bottom line: sin. It is vital to remember God's definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13 and to trust that when we love deeply, that love can help cover our own sins and those of our spouse.  From that love can flow the needed reconciliation in the aftermath of sin.

Consider making this verse a foundation in your marriage!

We are here for you! Call, text or come on by!

New Format for FiT!

Starting in September!

Remember when FiT gathered as a group for announcements and prayer and then went to individual classes? Remember when FiT members got to know each other better as a department as a result? Many of you do and have been asking to return to that setup so that we can all know each other better!
SO, beginning in September, we will give this format a try! At 9:42 SHARP, we will have some interesting way of calling us to order as a group – we won’t have chairs but we will gather as a group “around the coffee”. We will have a very brief time of announcements and prayer, and then be on our way to our classes. Try to be there by 9:30 so you can visit with other FiT families and get to know visitors as well! For those coming from first service, it will mean quickly making sure your school age kiddos are in their classes and then heading on down to the gym. For those who attend the second service, it means getting there a bit earlier to enjoy that time of connection. Let’s see how it works!

Apologetics 105 - AWESOME!

Dates: Sunday evenings, August 9 - August 30 & September 13.
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
This summer, beginning August 9, Apologetics 105 will include 5 sessions with special guests speakers.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn how to defend our faith on some of today’s most volatile topics! These classes will be even more important given the latest decision of our Supreme Court. Click here for more details!

Guatemala Mission Trip: September 26-October 3

It’s that time of year again! STBC’s next big mission trip to Guatemala will be leaving Tulsa on Saturday, September 26 and returning the next Saturday, October 3. We will be working primarily in Santa Maria de Jesus. The cost is approximately $1,450 per person, which covers round-trip air fare, insurance, hotel and food. If you have interest in going with us in September, please let e-mail Joe Donelson or Robert Shain know as soon as possible.

 5th Sunday - August 30th!

WOW! Be sure to be here this upcoming 5th Sunday in Bible Study when we will hear from  Sandy Spengler, the Regional Director of Lifesong for Orphans.  This wonderful ministry is a partner with STBC and seeks to mobilize the Church such that each member can provide a unique and special service for orphans: some to adopt, some to care, some to give! We will have a breakfast fellowship first and then hear from Sandy!

Donations Needed for Homebuilding in Guatemala!

The Missions Committee is asking for all Adult Sunday school classes to take up an offering till Sept 15.  The monies raised will go to build a second new home for a deserving Guatemalan family while the September Guatemala mission team is there Sept 26th through Oct 3rd.  We need to raise $2,500 to build the additional house.  If by chance we raise more than $2,500, any additional funds will be put to purchasing water filters to distribute on our trip as well.  All checks can be made out to STBC with "Guatemala House" in the memo line.

 Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Tuesdays - 6:45am - 8:00am - STBC Conference Room

Every Tuesday morning a group of FiT men gather to study the week's Quarterly lesson and prepare for Sunday. We share prayer requests and try to make it through the lesson (with varying levels of success). This group is open to anyone who would like to attend. The conference room is just beside the church office at the main entrance.

We will keep you posted via email with specific prayer needs to lift up each week. We are getting organized now. Email Carol below if you have not already signed up in class!
