 Marriage Moment

Read this great article this week - thought we should share it in its entirety:

The pressures, temptations and even genuinely good opportunities coming from the outside of our marriages are limitless. They don’t wait for invitation to intrude into our relationship with our spouse – they show up by themselves.

If we want to prevent that from happening, we must become active and protect our marriage. We have to recognize the dangers and put up well balanced boundaries, before these things come between us and our spouse. We need to learn to say no to them, before they have become so strong, that we can’t seem to fend them off anymore. We must learn to work diligently but to say no to excessive demands of our boss at work, as they will grow if we give in to them too often. We have to teach limits to our children, so that they learn to respect our need to spend time without them. We have to learn to honor our parents while still being able to say no to to them. Whatever or whoever we’re dealing with – we have to make clear that only one human being can have top priority in our life. And that is our spouse. The later we start that, the more difficult it will be . . . but it is never too late to start.

This is not just a recommendation that comes from experience. It is a command from God.

They are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate (Matthew 19:6).

We must guard our marriage, so that the outside world cannot separate it. We must protect its core – the love between husband and wife. This doesn’t come for free – it will cost us a lot. But our marriage is only as strong as what we invest into it.

We are striving for a Kingdom marriage just like you and we are here for you! Call, email, stop on by - our door is always open!

 Openings in Guatemala Mission Trips!

There are openings in both upcoming Guatemala Mission Trips.  The one in April (leave Saturday, April 26th back Saturday, May 3rd) will build houses and do house to house evangelism.  There is a need for 5 more adults (women are really needed – there are only 2 going at this point) so that there are 15 total. Mike and Carol Brown are going on this trip and would love to have other FIT folks go with.

There is also an opening for a family of 3 or 4 in the Guatemala Family Mission Trip, Saturday, June 14 through Saturday, June 21.

Several FIT families with kids ranging from 5 to 11 are already attending and activities during the trip will be designed to both make an impact in the community and in our families.

The cost for either trip will be approximately $1,400/person. So a family of 3 will be $4,200. That covers all transportation, meals, hotel, translators, etc. Basically everything except souvenirs.

If interested, please email Nathan Sweaney as soon as possible. (nathan@sweaney.com).

Can't go to Guatemala this time?
Be a part by being a prayer partner and/or helping to finance the trips. Homes are to be built, water filtration systems are to be given away. Fathers, mothers and children will be reached with the true salvation of our Lord Jesus. The WHOLE body of Christ is needed to complete His work there! What body part are YOU????

 Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Tuesdays - 6:45am - 8:00am - STBC Conference Room

Every Tuesday morning a group of FiT men gather to study the week's Quarterly lesson and prepare for Sunday. We share prayer requests and try to make it through the lesson (with varying levels of success). This group is open to anyone who would like to attend. The conference room is just beside the church office at the main entrance.
