FiT (Families in Training)

FiT is our ministry to young families at STBC. This active group includes newly married couples without children through families with children in upper elementary school. We'd love to have you join us. For more information, contact FiT Leaders

 Marriage Moment

Our own Garnet Cole shared with us last Sunday that a perfect marriage is made up of two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other. We love that! And let's add one more dimension to that - a perfect marriage is made up of  two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other because they trust in our Perfect God! WHOOHOO! By this definition, we can all have perfect marriages!     God is GOOD!

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

We are here for you! Call, email or stop on by!

Update on Joe "Rocky" Frye

Baby Frye is making progress! At Day 12, he is back to his birth weight, and his doctors are now trying to wean him off of oxygen over the next 24 to 48 hours. Please be in prayer since his ability to hold his oxygen is a detailed and critical process. If all goes well, he might be headed home on Saturday!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help and who gave on Sunday. We were able to bless them with over $250 to help at this challenging time. And there are so many of you giving of your time and abilities to minister to them.  It is such a blessing to see the Body of Christ in action!

Please continue to keep this precious family in your prayers. If you would like to know more about how you can help, please contact Laura McFarlin.

 Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Tuesdays - 6:45am - 8:00am - STBC Conference Room

Every Tuesday morning a group of FiT men gather to study the week's Quarterly lesson and prepare for Sunday. We share prayer requests and try to make it through the lesson (with varying levels of success). This group is open to anyone who would like to attend. The conference room is just beside the church office at the main entrance.

Two Bible Study Opportunities!

Coming soon to STBC!

1. “South Tulsa Baptist University” – an new opportunity on Sunday Nights
This Fall STBC will be beginning a “University” approach to Discipleship. We will eventually offer several classes to choose from in a given “mini-mester” (as opposed to a semester). We will begin slowly and start with just one course for the first 2 “mini-mesters”. The first class will be an apologetics class starting Sunday August 24 - October 5. Questions? Contact Dru Finley.

2. Spiritual Disciplines Class – a new opportunity on Wednesday nights
Discipline is so important but very difficult in our cram-packed lives. Or so we think. If we’re ever going to discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness, we’ve got to do it when life is like it is now: busy, unsettled, distracted. Get focused with us Wednesday August 27 at 5:45 in room C241, as we journey together toward a life of godliness. You will be encouraged and challenged to walk more closely with God. This class is for new believer and mature believers. Questions? Contact Dru Finley.

First Leg will be diving into Hebrews for the 4th quarter of 2014. For those who desire to be in a verse-by-verse study of God's Word, please feel free to join in! The Journey classes (1, 2 & 3) will continue in their study in the Gospel Project.

Current needs are Host Couples to be greeters on a rotating basis for FIT each Sunday morning, Social Committee for FIT, FIT Webmaster, FIT Graphic Artist, Outreach and Inreach for all of FIT and for each individual class. Please email Michael or Carol at or to let us know how you would like to help. If you have some other way you'd like to be involved, by all means, let us know - there is no limit on creativity in the Body of Christ!
