Retirement Home Ministry

BGCO LINC Training

South Tulsa Baptist's Transportation and Online Service teams have a vision for sharing the Gospel with residents of Retirement homes in our community.

Our Transportation team faithfully coordinates the pick up of folks who are interested in attending our church worship services and Bible Study classes. Our church buses run between 8:30 and 9:15 am on Sunday morning to pick up scheduled, pre-arranged folks interested in attending our church Bible Study classes and worship services. Please contact Carolyn Larkin by clicking here to make arrangements for our Transportation team to pick you up.

Our Online Service team developed a vision for reaching the residents at the retirement homes in our community in January of 2013 by taking our church to the retirement homes. Our Lord has opened many doors and our Online Service ministry has expanded from viewing by one retirement home with 15 residents participating to eleven retirement homes with over 150 residents participating. Every Sunday our Online Services team picks up enough Channels and bulletins and arrives at a retirement home within 5 miles of our church at approximately 10:30 to host our church worship services. Our team connects an iPad or laptop to the specific retirement home's strong wifi signal or cellular service and big screen television in order to view our 10:45 service including the full worship service through the LIVE link on our church website home page. Many of the residents sing along with the music and bring their Bibles to read and reference during the message. Residents have an opportunity to complete a Connect card from the bulletins if they have prayer requests or would like additional information about our church. Some residents have requested envelopes and a few have joined our church. Those who have joined have had their picture taken, received a Connect New Member bag, and additional information as a new church member. Some of the groups who view our worship services dine together at the facility after the service.

Our Online Service team believes in taking the Gospel to our community and we continue to see our Lord blessing that effort. Retirement homes we are currently ministering to are:

  • Legend at Mingo Road (Assisted Living and Memory Care),
  • Autumn Leaves,
  • Legend at Tulsa Hills,
  • Sterling House Broken Arrow,
  • Clare Bridge,
  • Southern Plains,
  • Town Village,
  • The Arbors,
  • Burgundy Place,
  • Country Club of Woodland Hills, and
  • Prairie Rose.

We continue to need new members of our Online Service team to host at the Retirement homes.
